Apparently, I'm no great traveller... lived in four states, and I've only been to thirty-two of them, plus D.C.
It seems I've neglected:
--the Southwest
--the Oddity of California
--portions of the Great Plains
--pockets of the South
--northernmost New England
--#1 (Delaware, of course)
--#49 (Alaska)
--#50 (Hawaii, if you know your U.S. history)
As for countries, it's too embarrassing to map out. I've been to four small European nations. Yep, that's all.
It's amazing how the world is partitioned. I can drive two hours north on Interstate 5 right now, plant one foot on Canadian soil, drive home, and say "I've been to Canada." But, as any idiot would know, in that situation, I didn't really go to Canada at all.
Speaking of which, I should go to Canada sometime.
I grew up in South Louisiana and spent a year going to school in NOLA in elementary, followed by a year in college just 60 miles away (every Fri/Sat night celebrating the divinity of the debauchery that is New Orleans) and so I have a fond, fond place for it. Being in Seattle, it might be a difficult to get to, but SAM should be able to get their from DFW.
The b/f had never been when we met and after going once, I have to take him at least twice a year. 4 years and 10 trips later, he's wondering when our next trip is going to be.

Posted by: Angelique at February 4, 2004 07:12 PMIn July, we can both be the only 23 year old gay men who have never been to NOLA. Until then, I'm 22.
Posted by: sam at February 4, 2004 12:52 PMMonceaux, to answer your question, I spent good chunks of my childhood living in northeastern Arkansas (Arkentucky?) and southern Florida - and on the drive from Florida to Arkansas to see "the Family," Alabama and Mississippi are in the way. :-) But New Orleans is one of my goals; I'm pretty sure I'm the only 23-year-old gay guy who's never been there.
Todd, I just might take you up on that visit offer. Be warned - I'll ask nerdy questions about Canadian history.
How can you surround Louisiana and not make it to the Bayou State? I can promise a night in New Orleans would be more memorable than your time in neighboring Mississippi and Alabama as well as Arkentucky.
Posted by: monceaux at February 4, 2004 07:45 AMYes, you and your bf should come up our way. :-) I'd love to meet you.
